Knowing Your Why Mentorship Program

BEC Leader & Mentor

The Program

Know your why. What does this mean? To me, it means being intentional in everything we do. Purposely choosing each element in order to tell the story in front of us the way we want it told. Knowing your why, (or actually your "whyS"), is an important part of thinking like a photographer. If you want to become identifiable in your work, find your OWN style, or simply want to grow- you need to know why you're doing what you do in your work. If we want to take moments that are ordinary and amplify them, we need to constantly ask ourselves how we will achieve our end goal using the tools we have. Just as a painter intentionally chooses everything in their work from brushes and brush strokes to the canvas, colors, and type of paint. We also need to think through each piece of our work similarly. Our light, colors, location, composition, lens choice, etc, are all tools we have to help us create a photo. Intentionality is KEY.

What does my mentorship include?

My mentorship is a detailed look into your work, meant to help you go deeper and to grow as an artist. Also includes an in-depth portfolio review (of 100-150 images) where we will discuss strengths/weaknesses and help you set some goals to improve on both. We will go over 10 elements of photography (used in the BEC leadership application) to look at where you are now and help you connect the dots to where you want to be. This is great for any photographer looking to get more clarity and direction, wanting constructive feedback, trying to find their style, feeling like they're missing something, needing another eye to look at their work, or simply wanting to grow.

ABout the author

BEC Leader & Mentor

Hi! I'm Christina- a NJ based lifestyle photographer focused on capturing emotion, connection, light, color, and dramatic skies. I am a mom of two and obsessed with coffee and all things nostalgic. I have always had the heart of a daydreaming artist and fell in love with photography when I had my kids. Inspired by the quote “Taking an image, freezing a moment, reveals how rich reality truly is”, my passion is to show the emotion and connection in the unexpected moments throughout my work.

Finding Confidence.

The Goal

This mentorship is meant to help you find who YOU are in this industry, not to make you like me or anyone else. It's a challenge to think deeper, to be INTENTIONAL, to set yourself up for continual growth, and to support you along the way. Private 1:1 feedback on the portfolio as a whole. Identify strengths and areas for improvement in order to focus on future growth.

Are you hesitant to "put yourself out there"?

I have been there! I think all of us have, as artists. I can help you find the confidence to continue to learn and grow as an photographer.

Invest in yourself, your work and your business.

This is such a wonderful course for senior photographers! I watched it over two days and took plenty of notes to read over again when my season starts. The behind-the-scenes videos sparked some great ideas I will certainly be trying, and the editing videos were very educational. I am hoping to purchase her presets to give them a try someday soon.

This course offers clear, concise, and engaging lessons on exactly how to get your business where you would like it.
I implemented one of the ideas she touches on today and saw a huge increase in my page views.
I am excited to continue through the coursework and see what great opportunities it creates.
I 10/10 recommend this course. Don’t sit on it ya’ll, buy it now!

This course is the missing piece of the marketing puzzle! It is PACKED with exercises, guidance through market research, prompts, information, starter templates, videos, and most importantly help with the beast that is SEO (praise be). Suneeta covers EVERYTHING you need to stop being afraid to make a profit and a living!

This is a phenomenal resource if you want to focus on bold and unique senior photography! I went through it in one sitting! Went back the next day to go over it again. The knowledge gained is incredible - even just watching Liz editing opened my eyes to new editing techniques and I have already started implementing them into my editing. I know I will be going back and referencing this resource as long as I am a photographer! My next BEC purchase will definitely be a mentorship with Liz!

This was a helpful editing course to understand all the new Lightroom masking features. I find there is always something new to learn from watching others edit. Brianna gives lots of examples of how to achieve a colorful and dramatic look using masks. I learned so many new features and shortcuts that I didn’t use before, but will be implementing them from now on!! Whether you’re new or have been editing for a while, this was an excellent course! Thank you for yet another great course!
