How to Identify Your Target Clients



We all have heard this before, attracting the right or target clients. What does that even mean? How do you know if you are taking the necessary steps if you don’t know who your target client is? The answer is simple and maybe overlooked. It’s not complicated as everyone makes it out to be. Your target client is simply, someone that connects with your brand.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Where do my target clients reside?

  • How old are they?

  • What is their average income?

  • Where do they shop?

  • What social media outlets do they use?

  • What are their behaviors?

  • What are their hobbies or interests?

You can use Google to help find these answers, but I can guarantee the answers are right in front of you. Answer these questions as if you were the client. Write them down and refer to them as you are preparing marketing materials. If you are attracting the RIGHT clients, then your work is going to sell itself. Marketing can be simple, it doesn’t have to be complicated.

Think about it….You are your brand. If they like your work, then they like you. The goal is to have your target client see your work and feel like they have an emotional connection. This is a type of marketing strategy is called, emotional marketing, where you create a connection between the client and your brand, creating brand loyalty.

When is the last time you felt an emotional connection between you and a brand? What brands are you drawn too because of their marketing? I can think of a few off the top of my head. Why? Once you figure out why, you have figured out how to create the perfect brand for your company.
